NP students will be able to take minors outside of their chosen Diploma courses, such as data analytics, cyber security, entrepreneurship and foreign languages. It is launched this April and will be first available to second year students, with plans to be available to all students from 2023. The minors can be undertaken through four pathways: a) professional skills, b) entrepreneurship, c) global readiness and d) social leadership. To graduate with a minor in any of the pathways, students need to complete three learning units to allow them to gain greater depth or breadth of learning in a discipline that is outside of their core discipline. Minister for Education Lawrence Wong said during NP's graduation ceremony, polytechnics will continue to prepare students for the everchanging future. Because of the coronavirus situation, polytechnics were unable to hold graduation ceremonies last year. This year, with social distancing measures in place, polytechnics started their graduation ceremonies from today.
