Early Admissions Exercise

Apply for your dream course in NP based on your aptitudes and interests via the EAE(I), an aptitude-based admissions exercise. The admission offer is conditional, based on your final ITE results.

You must be a final-year ITE student who is about to complete:

  • NITEC course in June or December in 2024; OR
  • Higher NITEC course in September in 2024 or March 2025
  • Apply via the EAE(I) portal.
  • Application period is from 6 to 12 June 2024.
  • Choose up to 3 courses, and submit a write-up for each selected course detailing your interest, aptitude and talents.

Tips

  • List your accomplishments that are relevant to the course.
  • Show us your aptitude for applied learning through activities that you have joined.
  • Talk about your CCAs that are relevant to the course.
  • Draft your write-up on paper first, then get someone to give you feedback.
  • Focus on key highlights because you have a limited amount of characters.

Interview

  • You will be notified during the EAE selection stage if you are shortlisted for an interview. Present a portfolio and showcase your aptitude, passion and commitment.
  • Your portfolio can include evidence of your award certificates, CCAs, key activities, work samples, or other interests and hobbies. Final selection is based on your interview performance and portfolio.

Tips

  • Ensure your portfolio contains your most relevant work. Highlight activities you participate in or outside of school that are related to your diploma of choice.

Release of Result

  • Check and accept posting results at EAE(I) portal.
  • If you change your mind after accepting the posting, submit your withdrawal online. Otherwise, you cannot participate in the Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise (JPAE) in February.

Posting

  • If your application is successful, you will be granted a conditional posting. The condition is that you are required to obtain:
    • Final net GPA of 2.0 or better for Higher NITEC qualification; OR
    • Final net GPA of 3.5 or better* for NITEC qualification
  • For NITEC in Nursing holders only, the minimum GPA requirement for admission to the Diploma in Nursing is 3.0.
  • Your conditional posting will be confirmed if you meet the above criteria upon the release of ITE examination results. You will receive an enrolment package with instructions on how to accept your offer online via eEnrol portal.

Joint Polytechnic Admissions Exercise

The exercise allows ITE Higher Nitec and Nitec applicants to submit application for admission to full-time courses offered by the 5 polytechnics.

You are eligible under JPAE if you have not studied in a polytechnic before and have one of the following qualifications:

  • Holders of relevant Higher Nitec or Industrial Technician Certificate (ITC) / Certificate in Business Studies (CBS) who attained the minimum net GPA of 2.0
  • Holders of relevant Nitec / National Technical Certificate (NTC) Grade 2 who attained the minimum net GPA of 3.5
  • Final semester graduating Higher Nitec students, including those from the Direct-Entry to Polytechnic Programme (DPP)
  • Final semester graduating Nitec students

Application period is from Monday, 17 February 2025, 9am to Friday, 21 February 2025, 4pm.

Choose up to 8 eligible courses across all polytechnics.

Results will be released online at the JPAE Portal on 10 April 2025 (tentative). You will receive an email with instructions on how to accept your offer online via eEnrol portal.
Nur Eidil Shahyn

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science

Nur Eidil aspires to become a pathologist and chose to study Pharmaceutical Science at NP to get the training he needs to effectively diagnose medical conditions.

Apart from the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that Eidil gets to use during his learning, he also appreciates all the opportunities NP offers to students. Last year, he embarked on a two-week Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP) to Bangkok, Thailand during which he took on the role of student group leader and got to sharpen his leadership skills.

Malcolm Chew Jia Rui

Malcolm Chew Jia Rui, Year 2
Diploma in Nursing
Formerly from ITE College East

Speaking to elderly through voluntary door-to-door visitations sparked a desire within Malcolm to make an impact on others. This led him to explore a career in nursing.

To hone skills to connect, collaborate and communicate better, Malcolm is pursuing a Minor in Social Leadership under NP’s Personalised Learning Pathway (PLP) Programme. He believes that these skills will make him a stronger communicator and leader to serve the needs of various communities as a healthcare professional.

Direct Admissions Exercise

The exercise allows former polytechnic students (who left without completing their diploma programmes) with ITE Higher Nitec or Nitec qualifications and ineligible to participate in JPAE to seek re-admission to the polytechnic.

 

Former polytechnic students with one of the following qualifications:

  • Holders of relevant Higher Nitec or Industrial Technician Certificate (ITC) / Certificate in Business Studies (CBS) who attained the minimum net GPA of 2.0
  • Holders of relevant Nitec / National Technical Certificate (NTC) Grade 2 who attained the minimum net GPA of 3.5
  • Apply via the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) portal.
  • Application period is from 10 January 2025, Friday to 15 January 2025, Wednesday 4pm.
  • Your supporting documents should be uploaded to the DAE portal during the online application.
  • You can include up to 3 choices in NP for which you are eligible.
  • You will only receive 1 offer if successful.
  • The outcome of your application will be released online through the DAE Portal by 1 April 2025, Tuesday .
  • If your application is successful, you will receive an enrolment package with instructions of how to accept your offer online.
  • The period between receiving your package and your course registration appointment can be as short as one or two days, and it is very important that you accept the offer during the appointment.
  • You can accept your offer online via eEnrol portal. Other information including payment of fees, application for financial assistance schemes and orientation period can also be found in both the package and the portal.
