SEN Support

We care for our students and want to journey alongside you. Our trained SEN counsellors can provide you with confidential and professional counselling. To book an appointment with a counsellor, students with SEN may use the Counselling Portal.

NP Supportify (NPSF) is a CCA Club that was started by a group of passionate students who desired to enhance on-campus inclusivity and accessibility for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This CCA Club supports students with SEN such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia by organising fortnightly “Playlist Sessions”, when members come together to share their experiences and help one another overcome different challenges.  In fact, a defining feature of NPSF as a CCA in an Institute of Higher Learning is how it has become an active engagement platform for a large number of students with SEN.

An Assistive Technology (AT) devices is any device, software, or equipment that helps people with disabilities (including SEN) learn, communicate, or function better. This includes items such as screen readers, FM systems, noise-cancelling devices, voice recorders and voice recognition apps.

Students can visit TechAble at the Enabling Village to view and trial a wide range of AT Devices. For your convenience, NP also has a satellite AT Library at the SAS Office where you can check out a smaller collection of      the common AT devices used in schools.

Feel free to visit our AT Library at Block 22 #03-01 during office hours (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm)!

Students can apply for the MOE SEN Fund to purchase Assistive Technology (AT) devices and obtain support services for educational needs. To apply, please send a letter from a psychologist or therapist recommending the use of such devices to sen-support@np.edu.sg

If you feel that you might require an AT device to support you in your studies but are unable to obtain the recommendation letter mentioned here, please contact us at sen-support@np.edu.sg. We will refer you to a SEN Counsellor so you can find out more about your eligibility and options. Please note that this is available only to students with a diagnosed SEN. 

 

We are continuously improving our campus to provide barrier-free accessibility to and within buildings. If you require additional assistance for access to specific facilities, please speak to your Advisor, your lecturer, or the staff at your School’s Administrative Office.
