NP Ambassadors

Ambassadors Today, Leaders Tomorrow

Established since 1992, the NP Ambassadors is an eXtraordinary student leaders team who are empowered to represent Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) at flagship events and various touch points with key stakeholders such as secondary school students, teachers and parents.

As the “face” of NP, our Ambassadors play a crucial role in connecting with prospective students, guiding them to explore their interests, and discover the vibrant student life and exciting possibilities at NP. Working closely with the Corporate Communications Office, NP Ambassadors lead, organise and manage signature projects such as Poly Xperience, Red Camp and Open House. These platforms provide Ambassadors an enriching learning experience as they develop critical core skills and stellar leadership qualities.

Through the years, from one generation to another, NP Ambassadors has proven to be a close-knit student body sharing a fabulous bond amongst themselves. They exhibit a very passionate spirit in serving as well as a strong culture of excellence. In the course of helping secondary school students discover their pathways, our Ambassadors have also found meaning in what they do and appreciated the impact they are making in the lives of others.

Jerraine

Invaluable Work Ethics

I was exposed to significant school events which served as catalysts for the cultivation of professionalism, invaluable work ethics, and life skills. The attributes consistently garnered praise from managers and colleagues during my internships.

An Edge Over Others

The interpersonal skills that I have gained played a paramount role in helping me pass my university application interviews, receiving offers from NUS Dentistry and Pharmacy

Professionalism

The leadership roles I undertook not only instilled a sense of professionalism crucial for my career but also shaped me into an agile and confident leader both in university and professional settings.

Effective Communication Skills

Through the many outreach events where I represented NP as an Ambassador, I have learned to articulate better, both on a personal basis and at public-speaking, giving me an edge over others.

Invaluable Work Ethics

The emphasis on professionalism within the organisation has been invaluable. I learned how to present myself in work environments and also the importance of maintaining integrity and reliability in all tasks undertaken.

Transformation & Growth

It was in NP Ambassadors where I cultivated both hard and soft skills that I find invaluable even till today for my work in the public service. A valuable lesson I gained was the significance of being articulate. Being articulate went beyond merely speaking fluently, it encompassed the ability to express ideas clearly, persuasively, and with confidence.

Tight-knit Community

The sense of community in Ambassadors was truly remarkable. Ambassadors afforded me the opportunity to interact with students from diverse backgrounds, fostering new perspectives and ideas when collaborating on projects together.

Resilience & Adaptability

My Ambassadors experience significantly contributed to my ability to lead and exhibit resilience during the initial days of my enlistment. While some of my peers struggled with adapting to the military lifestyle, I was able to adapt quickly.
