NP students create video series on hawker culture

21-year-old NP Mass Communication student Xiao Jia Mei, along with three course mates spent a month producing a series of videos depicting the lives of hawkers. From Holland Village dim sum joint Ru Fa Pau, to nasi lemak stall Mizzy Corner at Changi Village, their videos aim to capture a more personalised, behind-the-scenes take on the lives of hawkers, featuring short interviews with both the hawkers and their patrons on their experiences. This series is one of 18 works that was submitted as part of NP's collaboration with the National Heritage Board to document hawker culture in Singapore.
