Green walls, also known as living walls or vertical gardens, are one of the best ways to bring nature into our campus and city. Plants lower temperatures through evaporation. Covering a building surface with a heat-absorbing canopy will create a shading effect which can reduce internal temperatures in a high-rise building block by around 5°C. This will effectively reduce the building’s energy consumption for cooling. A well-maintained green wall also helps to enhance biodiversity on the campus, reduce ambient noise and improve the sense of well-being.
